Continuing the conversation from the NHS Estates Conference 2025
The Sewell Advisory team learned a lot from the NHS Estates Conference this week, and we had some great chats with some of you about all things health.
We’ve put together a few of our articles about the latest hot topics in the NHS, which you thought you might find interesting. From getting insight from ERIC and maximising your existing CDCs, to upgrading premises for primary care and future-proofing your estate, we can help you solve your estates challenges.
What it means for the future of the NHS estate
Associate Director, Issy Whitelock looks at what ERIC data tells us about the condition of the NHS.

Taking away the pain for family doctors
A North East medical practice had been operating out of a temporary modular building for a number of years. We worked with them to clarify what they wanted from a new practice building, and supported them through the whole process to design and construct the bespoke building they deserved.

“Without private investment, we would still have been trapped in an old temporary building, yet now we’re delivering our services from a bespoke, new-build centre which has been designed around the way we work."
Future-proofing your estate
Our Director of Strategy, Greg Salisbury, looks at why data-driven estate reviews are an essential step before you can make decisions on your estate, and how they can highlight underutilisation and opportunities for improvement for your real estate portfolio.

Maximise your community diagnostic centre's impact
Optimising the use of CDCs is important, but it can take time and budget to do this well. We’ve worked with health organisations across the country to set up their CDCs to have maximum impact, and we’ve compiled some quick wins which can ensure you can put patients first and get them quicker access to diagnostic tests, and therefore faster treatment, if required.

LIFTING HULL’S HEALTH ESTATE
Our team, working on behalf of Citycare, has provided centre management services for Hull’s LIFT facilities since 2015. We act as the main point of contact for all tenants, helping foster a sense of community and partnership between tenants in the building, as well as dealing with day-to-day estates queries from building occupiers.
