Sewell Advisory's Harry named UK Prop Star

Sewell Advisory’s own Harry Hopkin was named as Humber Freeport’s ‘Prop Star’, an early career professional who is making a big impact and forging a successful path in the fields of property, planning, development or investment.

His prize was the chance to join the Humber Freeport team at the UKREiiF event in Leeds. Harry spent two days at the UK’s biggest event for property professionals, and here’s what he learned.

“I had the privilege of attending UKREiiF 2025 in Leeds, thanks to Humber Freeport’s Prop Star Initiative.

Having studied and lived in Leeds during my time at university, it was a pleasure to return and see the city thriving—full of energy, ideas, and collaboration around the future of the UK’s built environment.

The event offered a well-curated programme of insightful sessions covering key themes such as education estates, healthcare infrastructure, and the strategic potential of Freeports in driving regional growth. These sessions were not only informative but also highly relevant to the sectors I work in, offering a deeper understanding of emerging trends and sector-specific challenges.

A particular highlight for me was the session on Next Generation University Campuses. It explored the complexities of futureproofing higher education estates, and the pressures universities face across the country. The themes discussed strongly resonated with me, and I believe Sewell Advisory is well-positioned to support institutions as they navigate these challenges.

It was also valuable to hear directly from senior leaders within the NHS and Department for Education, and to see how their strategic thinking aligns with many of the projects I’m currently helping to deliver.

Overall, UKREiiF 2025 was a brilliant opportunity to learn, connect, and reflect on how our work contributes to shaping resilient, forward-thinking places.”
